We’re really excited to share with you the detailed, day-by-day schedule of workshops, speakers, and events for Midwest UX 2014! We’ve crafted a day of thought-provoking pre-conference workshops for you to enhance your skills on October 23, and then the fun begins with two days of speaker sessions on October 24-25.
We promise the content at MWUX14 will be stellar and unique. We’ve done our best to bring you a range of regional professionals and renowned national and international experts.
Thursday, October 23
We’ve got six pre-conference workshops on Thursday, covering many areas to enhance your UX skill set. These workshops are 3-hour ($100) or full day ($200) experiences. That evening, we’ll kick off the conference with a party where you can socialize and catch-up with your fellow UXers at a local Indy venue drinking local Indy craft beers.
Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25
On Friday and Saturday you’ll have your choice between parallel tracks — one at Herron School of Art and Design and the other at Indiana History Center. The tracks are specially designed groupings of different speakers based on like-topics such as research, leadership, design, and interaction.
We’ll kick off the conference with talks from Peter Morville and Jared Spool. Throughout the 2-day experience you’ll hear talks from featured speakers Stephen Anderson, Lorna Ross, Steve Smith, and Lisa Welchman who will provide some thought-provoking topics to get you thinking about what’s next in our industry, as well as 24 other regional and national UX professionals.
We’ve created longer breaks so you’ll have plenty of time to walk between venues to see the talk you want. You’ll be able to craft your own conference experience by picking between talks meant to help you learn What’s Next in UX. In short, there is something for everyone.
On Saturday night, we’ll all come together at the Indiana State Museum to see our keynote, Mark Rolston, wrap up the conference with his talk that will leave you thinking about new experiences that are yet to come — some we may not even have considered yet.
Of course, we also have some out-of-this world events planned for everyone to relax and interact with their fellow UXers. We designed longer breaks so you can engage in our relaxing white spaces and interactive making sessions where we’ve paired with local Indy non-profits. Lunches will be provided from local Indy food trucks. We’ll be screening the Kickstarter project Maker: a documentary on the maker movement, at the IMAX at the Indiana State Museum on Friday evening. We’ll also have an awesome after-party for you following the keynote on Saturday evening.
Oh and did we mention we secured an awesome conference hotel for you at $144/night? Yup, we’ve got the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown as our hotel and it’s within easy walking distance from the venues. Book your stay online or by calling (317) 822-3500 and mentioning the Midwest UX Conference. The hotel special rates are going fast, so hurry and book now!Register Now!
